Texas OnCourse and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Summer Pilot Opportunity

We’re here to help! Texas OnCourse and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board have partnered to design a suite of online, on-demand training modules. These modules are designed to strengthen advising sessions between higher education professionals and Texas students. Below is a brief description of each module:

Dollars and Sense: Supporting Student Financial Wellness. In this module, you’ll learn how students’ finances can impact their success in college. We’ll cover the meanings of common money and budgeting terms as well as how to effectively refer students for financial help on and off campus. And we’ll review ways to take cultural and social norms into account when discussing personal finances.

FAFSA and TASFA: Helping Students Get and Keep Financial Aid. In this module, you’ll get a refresher on how students can apply for and renew financial aid using the FAFSA or TASFA. Subjects covered include how to interpret eligibility and documentation requirements and tips for helping students understand and navigate verification.

I don't see my occupation in the registration form

  • Make sure you have selected Texas as your state in the registration form. If you don't see your occupation listed on the drop down list you can enter it manually by selecting "Other." You can also enter your occupation on the module feedback survey.
I don't see my higher education institution in the registration form
  • Make sure you have selected Texas as your state in the registration form. You must select a Higher Ed role from the occupations drop down and the institution field will appear. If you type in three letters your institution should load into the field. If you don't see your institution, you can type in Other. You can also enter your higher education institution on the module feedback survey.

I only see content for K-12 and not for higher education institutions
